KREH MELLICK ART SHOW

Kreh Mellick is an artist living and working in the artist community surrounding Penland School of Crafts in the wooded mountains near Asheville, NC. Her work relates fictions inspired by folklore, nostalgia and a time passed, creating fantastic micro-worlds out of monochromatic cut paper and gouache.

Kreh's newest grouping of pieces, entitled "Wind + Beasts," will be on view in our Los Feliz gallery from December 5th through February 28th.

"I have been thinking a lot about wind and weather vanes this year. The cut drawings have little gusts that travel in and out of branches and patterns. Also, many beasts, lions, dogs, cats, birds that repeat throughout the work. They seem like nice quiet spots, familiar and restful. I have been working in these cut drawings for some time, but they are always changing, with small added elements and different shades of color. I am still exploring this style and finding things that excite me about them." - Kreh Mellick
